\n<\/strong>September 19, 20, 26, & 27, 2022, 10 AM – 6 PM Central
\nWorkshop will take place on Zoom.
\nOnline registration only. The last day to register is September 6, 2022. Cancellations will be non-refundable after September 1.
\nClass limit: 24. Exclusively available to clergy\u00a0 and lay leaders currently affiliated with the NACCC.<\/p>\n

COST<\/strong>
\nThe Vitality Ministry Council is partnering with the Interim Ministry Network to offer this course for $300 (full-price is $750) to support both clergy and NACCC churches in transition.<\/p>\n

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
\n<\/strong>Scholarships are available through the Minister\u2019s Assistance and Enrichment Fund<\/a>.\u00a0 Requests for assistance may be made to the Executive Director of the NACCC no later than August 25, 2022.<\/p>\n

COURSE DESCRIPTION
\n<\/strong>This four-day, self-contained Fundamentals of Transitional Ministry: The Work of the Leader course introduces theories that are foundational to interim ministry. The class hours are devoted to providing opportunities for experiential learning through the use of case studies and sacred story. The work of the interim leader is presented and discussed along with tools and resources that facilitate the work of the transitional leader.<\/p>\n

While this course emphasizes the work of the transition pastor, it is helpful to lay leaders to make informed and healthy choices about clergy leadership during times of transition.<\/p>\n

Foundations of Transitional Ministry.<\/strong>\u00a0Using\u00a0General Systems Theory<\/em>,\u00a0Bowen Family Systems Theory<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0William Bridges\u2019 Theory on Change and Transition<\/em>, attendees explore the unique dynamics of congregations in transition and understand how a congregation as a system responds to loss\/changes and begins to explore alternative responses. The day emphasizes importance of differentiation of self for the transition leader and resources to help others understand current relationships.<\/p>\n

Tools for the Transitional Leader.<\/strong>\u00a0Devoted to developing leadership skills that are basic to the practice of transitional ministry, this day explores the value of intentional and thoughtful listening, why power analysis is important in a congregation and the importance of taking care of self as a precursor to knowing and leading a congregation in transition.<\/p>\n

The Work of the\u00a0Transitional Leader.<\/strong>\u00a0Examine the process that a leader goes through from beginning to end in an interim situation. This\u00a0Process Task<\/strong>\u00a0include\u00a0Joining the System<\/em>,\u00a0Analyzing the System<\/em>,\u00a0Discerning Responsibility<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Establishing Priorities<\/em>,\u00a0Connecting the Congregation and the Denomination<\/em>, and\u00a0Evaluating and Adjusting to a New Future.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
